A most convenient golf range finder for Walking Golfers
My wife and I both walk the course.
And because we golf on many different courses, we find that we score
better if we use a Golf Range Finder. Most of the devices on the market
are a bit clumsy and inconvenient to carry while walking the course. Not
so with the
Garmin Approach GPS Golf Watch.
This
golf distance finder watch provides precise yardage to the front, back
and middle of the green at a glance. It measures shot distance and
calculates yardage for shots played from anywhere on the course. It’s
preloaded with thousands of US golf courses and there no download fees
or subscriptions to pay.
We've played dozens of courses (public
and private) and they've all been pre-loaded on our Garmin Approach Golf
GPS Watch. We’ve played in Alabama (several Robert Trent Jones
courses), Florida (Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, and Orange Beach),
Tennessee, South Carolina (Hilton Head) and several courses in Kentucky,
Illinois and Missouri. Every course that have we played was already
pre-loaded on our Garmin golf GPS watch.
We use our Garmin
Approach GPS Golf Watch rain or shine because it has a rugged waterproof
design. It recharges easily and we find that the rechargable battery
lasts for 27 holes or more. It's the most convenient yardage device that
I have run across. It's easy to operate -- and loads up in
seconds. It's light-weight, so I don't notice it and it doesn't
interfere with my swing.

Seven Tips for Operating your Garmin Approach GPS Golf Watch
1. Before leaving for the course check to see that your watch battery is fully charged.
2. Turn on your GPS golf watch when you enter the parking lot of the golf course.
3. At the first tee, check to see that the course your'e playing is displayed (important if other courses are nearby.)
4. When making your first approach shot, check to see if the distance displayed is "reasonable."
5. When you “make the turn,” double check to see that the correct hole is being displayed.
6. Put your golf watch charger in a place at home that you will see when when returning from golf.
7. Charge your GPS golf watch the each time after use.
We’ve
tried them all and found the Garmin Approach GPS Golf Watch to be the
easiest to operate, and one of the most complete, convenient yardage
detection devices available. I highly recommend it.
